Make The Most Of Your Garden During July Heatwave
Brits have been lucky with the weather so far this summer, with temperatures having already reached more than 30C in some areas of the country. However, the heatwave is set to return this month, which means it is time to prepare the garden so you can spend as much time in it as possible enjoying the balmy conditions.
Forecasts from WXCharts predict there could be highs of 24C as soon as this weekend, with “drier, more settled and warmer” weather set to continue into the second week of July as well.
This is likely to remain throughout the month, with pressure from the Atlantic bringing high temperatures across the country by mid-July, the Express reported.
According to the Met Office’s long-range forecast for the month, there is a “general settling trend is expected to take place early in this period, as outbreaks of cloud and rain in the south, and showers in the north, give way to higher pressure from the Atlantic”.
A spokesperson for the organisation went on to say showers and strong winds will calm down, and “temperatures are expected to be above average overall”.
Due to these positive forecasts, many Brits are likely to be updating their garden furniture so they can spend the summer months soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the long warm evenings outside.
Recent research from Admiral Home Insurance found that spending on gardening items has increased by 23 per cent and outdoor furniture by seven per cent during lockdown, as people spend more time outdoors.
