How Lighting In Your Home Office Could Make You More Productive
Not only are we in another lockdown in the UK, but winter is well on its way and that means that the days are getting shorter and shorter.
All of that means that having the right lighting for your home office is more important than ever. Writing for Ideal Home, neuroscientist Dr Karen Dawe offered some tips on how you can light your home office more efficiently and therefore boost your productivity throughout the day.
The first piece of advice is to get as much exposure to actual daylight as you can. Taking a walk outdoors, especially early in the morning, is a good way to energise your body and get you ready for the day ahead.
When it comes to your home office environment, Dr Dawe has a simple piece of advice: “Take control of the lighting around you. Consider how light falls around the entire room and not just directly around the light fitting.”
We also need to make sure we’re lighting our workspaces to make it as easy as possible for us to focus. As we get older, we need more light to carry out the same tasks, so you could consider investing in table lamps to provide some additional light to a specific part of your room, like your desk.
Remember that lighting is an essential element throughout your home and that you can use it to set the mood in different spaces.

You can also use the likes of floor lamps and reading lights to add character to your home and make it look lived in.
